The Medtech Foundations are the student and trainee divisions of an NIHR research initiative known as MedTech and In-vitro Diagnostic Co-operatives (MICs). The MICs aim to support the development of technologies which address the unmet needs of NHS patients. The Cambridge MIC focuses on technologies for use in general and vascular surgery, under our parent hub at the University of Leeds . The Cambridge MedTech Foundation exists as part of the Cambridge MIC. We aim to foster the spirit of enterprise in the next generation of medtech innovators. We offer students of all stages and disciplines the chance to learn about medical technology development in a real world setting, primarily through our Innovation Programme. We then give participants the chance to use their newly acquired skills in industry and academia through our Internship Scheme.
